Japan: Kyoto, Day One - Fushimi Inari Shrine

To make the most of day one in Kyoto, we caught a train to the Fushimi Inari Shrine late in the afternoon. Below is a photo taken at Kyoto Station, it has really cool architecture.
I may have taken a few too many photos but the tori gates are pretty incredible.

I loved seeing the Japanese girls dressed in traditional kimonos during sakura season, their kimonos were gorgeous.
One of my favourite photos (had to take it quickly before masses of people came through)

Clinton filming as we walked

The tori gates seem to go on forever and we kept walking and walking as the sun began to set.

A few photos on our way out

The buildings looked amazing all lit up at night

We were pretty exhausted by the end of day one - we ate delicious katsu curry for dinner at Kyoto station. We make katsu curry regularly at home and it's the ultimate comfort food, perfect after a big day of walking and site seeing.
