Firetruck at Kindy

Sienna's kindy class had a visit from the Fire and Rescue Services. Parents were invited to come along and watch as the children learned about fire safety and got to sit in a firetruck and use the hose!

Lining up to sit in the firetruck

Sienna got a little freaked out in the truck, she thought they were going to drive somewhere.

Alissa loved the fire engine and wanted to sit inside too!

The fireman explained different bits of equipment, including the 'jaws of life.'
Using the hose was the highlight for Sienna

Harrison's Basketball

Harrison has just finished his second season of basketball. Our team never had a proper coach, Clinton filled in for a while when I was in Italy, then some other mum's and dad's helped here and there. Also half the team had never played basketball before and they were learning as they went along. As a result, the team didn't win that many games but they definitely improved through the season. Harrison became more confident with his skills and started to drive the ball down the court and shoot more. Here are a few photos from his last game.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day started with Clinton and the kids bringing me breakfast in bed - homemade bircher muesli and juice. It was delicious! They spoiled me with gifts and treats, including an Intuos pro pad for editing photos..I still have to learn how to use it but it looks amazing. The kids and Clinton all gave me cards which were very thoughtful and sweet. Then we went to church and afterwards Clinton had to go into work. Unfortunately there had been a fire at the gas plant a couple of days before and everyone was working longer hours to get it up and running again. Clinton has been filling in for his boss the whole of May too which has made him even busier.

I decided we might as well do a BBQ for dinner at Hearson's Cove - then Clinton could drive straight there and meet us from work. The Bakers and the Rodoni's joined us and we invited the Pilkington's but Bryan was working from home that afternoon and flat out too.
Mick made a bonfire for the kids...Alissa the fire bug!
Soot all over her face!!

Clinton felt really bad about not being around much on Mother's Day and not getting to make a special dinner at home. On Monday he had an RDO but only took some of the morning off and then had to go into work. During the morning he baked this raspberry and rhubarb tart from scratch (pastry and all) for a dessert that night. It was so yummy! He really is such an amazing husband, I'm very lucky.
I did want to get a photo with me and the kids on mother's day but it didn't end up happening! Here are a few 'Sunday Selfie's' we have taken recently. Sunday always seems like the right time to get a photo because we are all looking half decent and often have some time to kill before church. I have been trying to get a few more photos of myself with the kids because I've heard one day I'll wish I had more of them (and I'm usually the one behind the camera)!!

Harry took this photo with my phone - he's a great little photographer.
I had a lovely Mother's Day and felt very spoilt and appreciated by Clinton and the kids. xx

Kindly Mother's Day Morning Tea

Sienna's Kindy class hosted a Mother's Day morning tea. I didn't bring my camera so these are photos I took on my phone. When we came in the classroom was all decorated for us and tables with activities were set up.
Then Sienna's class sang us a song
They gave us a present in this handmade bag - so cute!
Each activity had a price of "one hug"
 Sienna icing me a cookie

Painting my fingernails (then I painted hers), they put eyeshadow and lip gloss on us too
 My beautiful nails!
Sienna making me a scone with jam and cream
...and eating most of it herself! haha!
 Painting a portrait of Mummy
 A good likeness of me...
Making a beaded bracelet - Sienna made it and said she wanted to keep it! So she made me another one.

Sienna has the most lovely kindergarten teachers, they really made the morning special for us and our kids. Georgia looked after Alissa for me too which made Sienna and my morning even more special. Love you Sen xx
