On Saturday the 30th of January we decided to have Zara's baby blessing at my parent's house. As I had the baby two weeks early and Clinton's parents had flown into Perth the night before, we thought it would be a good opportunity to do it with as many of the family there as possible. We would normally have the blessing on a Sunday and at the chapel but we were scheduled to fly back to Karratha the next morning at 7am.
That morning was the first time Grammie and Papa had met baby Zara - she was two weeks old that day. The blessing dress that the other kids were blessed in was in Karratha, so luckily Kate had this cute little dress for Zara to wear.

We started with a hymn and a prayer
Then Clinton gave Zara a blessing and was assisted by Papa Meurs, Papa, Snow, Uncle Trent and Uncle Jarom. It was a lovely blessing that included words along the lines of Zara being healed from her traumatic birth and growing and developing properly. Before the blessing Zara hadn't been making any eye contact with us - but from that day she really started looking at us being a lot more alert. The spirit was very strong during the blessing and I felt grateful to have Clinton as the father of my children.
Trying to get some group photos with everyone looking...always a challenge...
Mum bought some delicious cakes and quiches from 'Sugar and Spice' for our morning tea.

I know Zara is blurry in this photo but I like this one of Grandma
It was a lovely baby blessing and really special to have lots of family there. We missed all the family around Australia and overseas that couldn't be there. That afternoon we packed up ready to go and then Clinton and I went to Jason and Ainsley's engagement party (Papa and Trent babysat for us). The following morning we got up early and drove to the airport in two cars with Grandma and Papa. We had breakfast in the lounge together and then said a tearful goodbye! Harrison hates saying goodbye to grandparents the most. Mum and Dad had been so kind and helpful while we were in Perth and we are so grateful for their love and support. We are looking forward to seeing them again in April.
