On Good Friday we decided to go boating in the morning with some friends. We warned our friends of the Good Friday boating curse...my family has experienced several boating accidents on Good Friday over the years for example my Dad popping his shoulder, the jet ski's crashing into each other and the boat falling off the trailer...to name a few! After a bit of a laugh about this "curse" we took off early Friday morning. The sea was rougher than we anticipated so instead of going to one of our regular spots we drove to the more protected side of the islands and pulled in at a beach we had never explored before.
Alissa demonstrating the only civilised way to eat a donut...shove it in your mouth!
Sienna collecting shells in the handbag I brought home for her from Italy...I was not impressed!
Harry and Indy having a spot of fishing
We went for a walk to explore this new island
Tom spotted a mud crab
Clinton tried to pick it up first and it swung it's claw around and grabbed his finger! He was very lucky he didn't lose his finger thanks to Emi smashing the crab off him.
Mick with the mud crab
The kids love collecting and playing with hermit crabs
Reeve caught one!
Milly and Sienna
Once the mud crab was dead the kids had fun having pictures with it! Sienna and Clinton ended up cooking it and eating it while I was out one night, both said it was delicious!
Then our Good Friday "curse" reared it's ugly head...while the boys were off fishing the tide went out and our boat became beached. The tide wasn't coming back in until later that evening!
Emi took these photos on my phone of us pushing the boat while Mick tried to tow it out with his boat.
Success! Phew, we were lucky Mick was with us of it would have been a long afternoon/night.
That evening we went to the Pilkington's annual Easter party. We all had a great time with the kids especially enjoying the easter egg hunt.
