Harrison's Baptism

Harrison was baptised the day after his 8th birthday on Saturday morning. Here is his baptism invitation.

This was the baptism programme for the day - before Papa Meurs gave his closing remarks he invited Harrison to bear his testimony. Grandma conducted the music and Grammie made a delicious morning tea, it was awesome to have so many of the family there to participate. 

Harrison on the morning of his baptism...Grammie got some white pants for Harrison to wear and we realised that morning that they were too big (he has such a skinny waist!) so Grandma quickly sewed them in tighter. He also borrowed a white shirt from his big cousin Charlie.

It was raining outside when we arrived at the chapel so I had to take these photos inside. Proud Father and son. 

It was so awesome to have Michael at the baptism too!

Charlie and Harry (and Michael)

Harrison had a beautiful baptism service, I cried several times as the spirit was so strong. Clinton gave Harrison a beautiful blessing when he received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Luckily Aunty Bindi took some notes from it so I'll write those in Harrison's baptism book. After the baptism we enjoyed a delicious morning tea provided by Grammie who was helped by Bindi and Tam. These are some owl cupcakes made by Aunty and Sienna...such a cool idea!

There were cupcakes, mini jellies with lolly fish, lemon meringue cupcakes with lemon curd inside and meringue on top, blue meringues, assorted sandwiches, party pies and sausage rolls, dips and apple punch. It was incredible!

Penny's girls Jordyn and Jayme just happened to be staying with their Aunty Kim in Perth that week of the holidays. Harry was stoked to have them there. Jayme is only 2 weeks older than Harrison and they practically grew up together. It was like having a piece of my best friend there, so special. 

The Rodoni's also came to Harrison's baptism - Harry was so excited when he heard they would be coming. He had been saying, "but none of my Karratha friends will be at my baptism" and he ended up having Tom and Milly and Michael there! They gave Harry a beautiful leather book with Harrison's initials on the front to record some of his baptism memories. Alissa loved having Emi there too!

Harrison's bestie from Perth, Sian, also came...he loved seeing her and unfortunately we ran out of time in Perth to have another play date. Next time! It was so nice for me to catch up with Candice too!

It may look like Harrison's pants are too short but when we got home he told us his pants were too big around the waist! We looked at them and saw the elastic adjusters inside the pants had come off the button and slid inside the seam making his pants too loose. He was holding them up!!

Such a special day with so many beautiful memories, Harrison was blessed to have so many family members there. Even Nana Patsy had booked flights from Melbourne and was going to surprise us on the day but unfortunately wasn't well enough to fly. Harrison is such a special boy and we love him very much. We are so proud of him for making this commitment and now having the blessing of the Holy Ghost in his life.
