On Tuesday the 2nd of September we left Karratha for a holiday in Hamilton Island with my family. We met my parents and Jarom and Monique at Perth airport and flew to Brisbane together from there. It was actually a fluke that we were on the same flight! We had originally booked to fly directly from Karratha to Brisbane but Qantas has now cancelled all direct flights from Karratha and changed our flights so that we would be flying through Perth. They just happened to put us on the same flight to Brisbane with my family.

We were in a row of four to Brisbane which worked well for us...once Alissa turns two and needs a seat we won't fit in a row of four any more!
Dad had originally booked this huge van for us in Brisbane but there were no anchor points for the car seats so we had to swap to two smaller cars. The kids were disappointed - they loved the van!

The night we arrived in Brisbane we met my Dad's sister Aunty Libby and her husband Uncle John for dinner, it was nice to catch up with them. Then the following morning we walked to a restaurant for breakfast.

Then we flew on a plane to Hamilton Island that afternoon. It only took one and a half hours and we met Lisa and her kids there. They had flown in directly from LA to Sydney then onto Hamilton Island. Unfortunately Kate, Matt, Jack and Lucy weren't able to come on our holiday. They had just got home from their trip to the USA and Matt couldn't get any more time off work and Kate didn't want Jack to miss more of his therapy. We missed them!
Everyone drives golf carts on Hamilton Island and we hired three of them to get us around. The kids had a blast! Here is a quick Go Pro video Clinton took of us on the golf carts...
Cousins reunited!! Madison and Charlie did so well considering they were jetlagged!
Dad organised for us to stay in a house on Hamilton Island...it had a wonderful view! It had a beautiful infinity pool that I forgot to take photos of too. The best bit about it was that we could put the kids to bed and hang out together at night (unlike at a hotel in separate rooms).
On our first night in Hamilton Island we went out for dinner - this is Clinton and I at the restaurant.
The next morning we went out for breakfast (we ordered a Coles online order for groceries and they didn't arrive until later that day). Sienna and Madison kept asking Lisa and I to do their hair the same so they could be "twins" - they thought they looked "exactly the same". They had such a great time together on this holiday.

Jarom kept getting stuck behind me and we had a bit of a collision at one stage - Jarom has the scars to prove it! Ooops!
After going solo the first time, Lisa took Madison the second time. Dad, Lisa, Jarom and Clinton went again another day and Dad managed to get one of the fastest lap times on the board (nearly getting the same time as Casey Stoner the champion motorcyclist).
That afternoon our Coles order was delivered and Dad cooked up burgers for lunch

One night Clinton and I took the kids to a lookout to see the sunset...Hamilton Island is such a picturesque place.
