We flew to Perth on the 24th of September - Wednesday night. On the Friday it was Harrison's 8th birthday. We had given him his birthday present (a camera) early so he could take it on his holiday to the US with my parents. We still gave him a few things on his actual birthday though, firstly his own set of scriptures because he was going to be baptised the next day.
He thought his birthday card was hilarious...maybe because it included jokes about flatulence! Such a boy!Sienna watching the present opening...
Lisa gave him the same card...and he still found it funny!
Lisa also gave him this awesome gift, Harry Potter Gryffindor robes and scarf. He absolutely loves them! Best present ever!
Playing with another present
As we were staying at my parents house (and they could babysit the girls) we took the opportunity to take Harrison out for breakfast - just Harry and us.
Later that afternoon we picked up Harrison's birthday cake. A Mum from Harrion's old primary school in Perth made it, she's an incredible cake decorator and did a fantastic job with Harry's theme of 'go karting'. Harry was SO excited when he saw it.
These are the cake decorator's photos of the cake - in case you didn't see enough photos. Inside was layers of white chocolate mud cake and vanilla, butter cream icing - delicious!
Harrison's best friend from Karratha, Michael, just happened to be staying with his grandparents in Perth that week. So he was able to come to Harrison's birthday dinner at Tony Roma's restaurant in the city. Harrison was stoked to have him there! Tony Roma's is Harry's favourite restaurant because he loves their ribs!
Our other friends from Karratha the Rodoni's happened to be in Perth on a holiday too! So Harrison's friends Tom and Milly were able to come to the restaurant as well. Harry loves playing with Tom, he's like the little brother he never had.Alissa was so excited to see Emi!
Grammie and my newest nephew Nathan Snow! He's adorable!
Alissa was equally excited to see Aunty who kept a good supply of lollies coming throughout the night! Sugar is definitely the way to choggy's heart!
Aunty Bindi, Mia and Charlie also arrived in Perth that day and had been flying since 5am and were in Canberra time so we really appreciated them coming to dinner and staying awake! Harrison and Sienna were so happy to see their cousins!
Baby Nate
It was awesome having Lisa and the kids there for Harrison's birthday too!
Katie and sweet baby Lucy
We had three large tables and Harrison did so well going from table to table and talking to everyone. Papa and Jarom took the opportunity to have a little wrestle with the birthday boy.
Uncle Matt and Jack
Trying to get a family photo...Lissy was not impressed!
Time for those delicious BBQ ribs!
Harrison needed some help cutting through the epic fondant on the cake
Alissa LOVED the black fondant icing...as you can see!
Harrison was so spoilt with gifts from the family! Lots of amazing Lego and special things.
An awesome microscope that you plug into the computer from Papa and Grammie Snow
I think Harrison's favourite gift was a book Aunty made him - all about Harrison. It had baby photos right through to present day photos...he was so surprised and excited.
Harrison had such an incredible night and he was so lucky to have all the family on both sides of the family there (apart from Uncle Mark and Uncle Simon). I think it's a birthday he'll remember forever.
