Weekend Trip to Perth

Clinton was told that he and two others from work were up for an award at Woodside for a novel operating mode they developed. This change in procedure they developed saved Woodside over 100 million dollars and cost barely anything to implement- not too shabby! In order to attend the awards night, Woodside would fly Clinton to Perth. Then Clinton's parents told us they would be visiting and offered to look after Harrison and Sienna so that I could go to Perth with Clinton and attend the awards night. This was such a generous offer and we were very excited to go away by ourselves (well, with Alissa too - but it's so easy with just one baby!). Kate had also flown into Perth a week before and Lisa was about to move to the US - so I saw it as a great chance to see my sisters and family too. We then found out that partners weren't invited to the awards night so we had to decide whether I should still come. Clinton decided to work in Perth on Friday and Monday to make the trip more worthwhile. While he worked I was able to catch up with my family and a couple of friends- which I loved! Unfortunately Lisa was flat out trying to pack up her house, organise her business and get ready to move so we didn't get to see each other as much as we would have liked to. On Friday night the whole family went out for dinner to celebrate Lisa's 30th birthday and Kate's birthday. My cousin Sophie also flew in from Melbourne so it was great to catch up with her too!

All of us together - minus Kate's husband Matt, Lisa's husband Mark and Sophie's husband Josh
As Mum's house was full, Clinton and I stayed in the City. On Saturday we spent a lovely day together shopping, eating out and relaxing. Alissa loved the one on one attention from us!
Dinner at our favourite Japanese restaurant Matsuri

Alissa enjoyed sampling Japanese food too!
Cuddles with Uncle Jarom
It was Kate's birthday on Monday so we had a yummy birthday cake that Mum made!

On Monday night Clinton went to the awards night. They didn't win the award they were nominated for but did win the people's choice award! That means they had the most votes from their peers at Woodside. This is Clinton, Narelle and Hamish being presented the award by Peter Coleman (CEO). Hamish also won the young professional of the year award. They were all happy to win something on the night!

Harrison and Sienna had a great time with Grammie and Papa while we were away. They bought lots of activities and special presents for the kids to play with so they were happily entertained. Clinton and I really enjoyed the break and we so appreciated Clint's parents for babysitting for five days!
