Flowers in our backyard

For such a dry, desert climate - Karratha has a surprising number of rich, colourful flowers. Here are a few of the latest flowers that have bloomed in our backyard. I took these photos when Grammie & Papa were still staying with us.

This is a big tree in our backyard - we hate the seed pods because they drop everywhere but these bright red flowers have emerged and have redeemed it somewhat.
Clint's parents saw these flowers and said they were known as 'kings flowers' in Thailand.

We have the most beautiful frangipani tree, such a vibrant pink flower but the only problem is the tree is massive and too high to see the flowers. When they drop to the ground I like to collect them and float them in water to appreciate the colour.
