The first weekend in August it was that time again...the FeNaClNG festival! I was starting to feel less morning sick by then so it was a good day out. The kids look forward to the festival for weeks, this year was no exception. A couple of weeks leading up to the festival the children had the opportunity to earn tokens by doing jobs around the house. The tokens translated to money they could spend at the festival - either rides, show bags or food, it was up to them (but they knew once their money was gone, it was gone and we wouldn't pay for anything else).

The kids first ride, this is the one Sienna cried on last year but she insisted on going on it again. She didn't cry this time but you can see by her face that she was scared. Notice the contrast with Harrison and Alissa!
Sienna desperately wanted to spend her money on show bags. She wanted the ones with toys but I told her all her money would be gone on one show bag. So she chose a cheap giant show bag filled with lollies (nasty, cheap lollies). Alissa got a $2 show bag and was thrilled!
Harry used some money to go on this ride by himself...Clint and I didn't want to go on it! It made me sick just watching him spinning around. Harrison loved it though!

After lunch the kids did the free umbrella painting - Alissa looks like a street urchin in rags with her painting smock on ( the messy hair doesn't help)!

Sienna was all out of money at the end of the day and Harrison had some left over. We bought Alissa a little barking dog toy and Sienna cried because she didn't have enough money left to buy one too. Harrison kindly used the last of his money to buy Sienna a barking dog too - without any prompting from us. We were proud of how kind he was even when Sienna refused to say thank you to him!!!
