Exmouth (day two)

On day two in Exmouth we woke up to extremely windy conditions. It had been windy in Karratha when we left and we were hoping it wouldn't be as windy in Exmouth. Luckily the wind died down as the morning progressed. As it was a Sunday we had a little lesson and did some scripture study before we went out for the day (Exmouth is actually part of Karratha branch so there were no meetings we could attend). 

The wind blowing the trees outside our window...there were chairs that had blown into the swimming pool too.

Our first stop was Vlaming Head Lighthouse 

It was so windy around the side of the lighthouse the kids were nearly blown away!

There is a war memorial at the bottom of the lighthouse, Harrison is standing in front of sandbags put there in WWII. Exmouth was a defensive military post for a time during that war. 

We then followed the road along Ningaloo Reef and stopped off at a few beautiful beaches, like this one..

We randomly saw an emu...the kids thought that was awesome

We went for a mini hike through a very rocky Mandu Mandu Gorge

Then onto pristine Turquoise Bay...

All the kids love playing in the sand...Sienna collected some lovely shells

Crazy bub! Her favourite thing is making us all laugh!

So I didn't realise how much sand this kid ate until I found it in her nappy the next day....oops!

Again...freezing water! But guess who loved every minute of it!

Bit of a rest after another long drive in the car

Italian for dinner at Pinocchio's  ...Clinton had amazing smoked ribs and I had delicious hand made pasta.

The only way to keep a tired, restless toddler happy in a restaurant...
