Little Athletics

Clinton took Harrison to his first 'Little Athletics' get together last night at Bulgara oval. It wasn't an official training session, the kids just played games and had a sausage sizzle. It was, however, a training night for the parents! Parents have many responsibilities at Little Athletics, they have to help set up equipment, help with taking and recording measurements (for events like shot put and long jump) and record running times. They assist during training nights and competition nights...I don't think Clinton realised what he was signing himself up for!

I think it will be good for Clinton and Harrison to have this special time together every Friday night. Clinton was always very good at athletics in primary school and high school (amongst other things he was the athletics captain). I wasn't too bad at athletics myself - but was way too lazy!! Hopefully this will be something that will build Harrison's confidence. The season officially starts at the beginning of May...I'll update on how he's going once he starts.

LOL

For the past couple of weeks I have been trying to get Alissa to laugh. She is so smiley, especially first thing in the morning. Most of her biggest smiles are reserved for her Mum and I appreciate her good taste (and no, it has nothing to do with where she gets her milk!). Sometimes she gives you huge open-mouthed smiles, that almost verge on a laugh...it's like she wants to laugh but can't quite squeeze it out.

Clinton has been saying that Alissa doesn't like him much. Unfortunately Clint mainly see's Alissa during the witching hours...between 4.30 and 7.30pm when she is at her fussiest. Consequently, Alissa doesn't smile at him much and I like to tease him saying... "sorry babe, she's a Mummy's girl".

Well...that "Mummy's girl" decided to laugh for the first time yesterday...for Daddy! It was an adorable little laugh and yes, Daddy was very chuffed that he managed to get the first laugh out of her. Why do little girls adore their Daddy's so much?

In celebration of Alissa's first laugh I decided to take a few photos of her. Sienna saw what I was doing and decided to photo bomb...I don't mind though, it's very sweet the way she loves her little sister. I hope that Sienna and Alissa are as close as I am with my sisters one day. (By the way...I didn't realise Sienna's dress was tucked into her knickers for some of the photos until I uploaded them to the computer).

WASH the dishes, DRY the dishes, LICK the dishes CLEAN!

Clinton and I had the YSA's for dinner on Sunday night for a 'fast breaker'. We are the YSA couple in the branch and Clinton is also branch clerk. Of course, we made WAY too much food but that is a Snow tradition. We wouldn't want our company to go home hungry now would we?! Harrison was extremely pleased that I made his favourite dessert "sugar cake" or you may call it pavlova.
Sienna was very helpful with the washing up....mmmm, raw egg white... :(

Hangin' with Friends

I've been worrying about what we are going to do in the school holidays up here...there is no movie cinema, no scitech, no zoo, no bowling etc. The kids had Tuesday off school so Amy and the kids came to our house. They all played really well together and entertained themselves while Amy and I chatted. Problem solved! I think we'll have lots of play dates in the holidays.

Harry and Michael both like doing very similar things - usually involving building or designing things. So they had lots of fun making stuff from the craft box (hence the crowns!). Amy and I were talking about pre-primary and how both Harry and Michael would always bring home the biggest and most elaborate box constructions! They both love building Lego and designing race tracks for Harry's scalextric cars. Future engineers like their Dad's??

The boys watching a movie and eating popcorn while Sienna was asleep.

I took these photos of the kids in the paddling pool with my iPhone so they are a bit blurry. It was more of a water pistol fight than a swim...Sienna's face is classic!

My happy bub, she sat by the paddling pool watching the kids. She loves watching Harrison and Sienna!

Monday @ Withnell Bay

Late afternoon on Easter Monday the kids were begging us to go to the beach again. On the way to Withnell Bay we ran over a nail and punctured one of the tyres on our landcruiser. Clinton used this as an opportunity to teach Harrison (and me) how to change a tyre. This made it a very late afternoon swim...Harrison did some snorkeling and Sienna paddled around in her new floaties. She likes to spin around and around in circles. As she spun around she was singing "spinerelly" to the tune of cinderella - her favourite movie at the moment.

While Harrison was snorkeling, Clinton spotted a small stingray which he nearly pointed out to Harrison but then thought the better of it (Harrison would probably have never snorkeled again).

Easter Sunday

The Easter bunny paid Sienna and Harrison a visit by leaving a little trail of Easter eggs from their bedrooms to a pile each in the lounge room. No outside Easter egg hunts this year because of the heat! Sienna was straight into munching her eggs whereas, Harrison took a bit longer but actually ate his Easter bunny and some eggs this year! Apparently if the chocolate is hollow he likes it??! We then went to church where the kids got even more chocolate. Harrison gave a talk in Primary about the Easter story , he did really well. Here are a few pictures of our Easter morning and yes, Harrison is wearing Christmas pajamas....

Easter gifts for teachers and friends at church (thanks Aunty Bindi for the kit!)
