Easter Sunday

 In the lead up to Easter Sunday we had a special family home evening on Jesus Christ's life, ministry, atonement, death and resurrection. Then for the 7 days leading up to Easter Sunday we read a scripture, sang a song and had a quick discussion about each event of his life leading to his resurrection. We weren't as diligent with this as I had hoped we'd be...school holidays has thrown our bedtime routine out a bit! I do think our children understand what we really celebrate Easter for though and that the Easter eggs are given as a symbol of new life.

The night before Easter Sunday the kids put on their new PJ's - an Easter gift from Grammie. I love the super soft fabric the PJ's are made out of - the kids felt all snuggly! They were a little too excited to sit still for a photo though!

In the morning Harrison and Sienna were excited to find Easter bunny footprints leading outside...they looked through the window and saw eggs scattered on the front lawn. A very diligent Easter bunny must have set her alarm at 5.30am to scatter these eggs in time for the kids early wake up call! I told the kids they couldn't go outside at 6am but would have to wait until 7 - 7.30am so we weren't too early for the neighbours! Some people actually sleep in...

They all loved the dancing/singing bunny from Grandma - it sings 'Every "bunny" Dance Now'.



The Easter Bunny must have known Harrison doesn't like chocolate that much and gave him an iced cookie.



The Easter egg hunt...it's hard to get good photos of kids running everywhere!



Alissa found an egg, sat down and started unpeeling it - ignoring the rest of the eggs around her!



Sienna understood the concept of finding eggs better!



So did Harrison...but he gave most of his eggs to us and his sisters

 Sienna made an egg picture at her school readiness program and a cute little card I seem to have misplaced!

The kids were also spoilt with packages from Aunty Tam and Aunty Bindi! They wisely didn't send any chocolate (it melts very easily up here) but toys and crafts instead. 

 

Sienna loved her cupcake stand from Aunty...we have had lots of tea parties!
