June iPhone Photos

Forgive me, I'm nearly a year behind in my blogging and my memory of details isn't as clear! I've been getting really lazy with bringing my camera's places and often just use my phone to take photos. When I sort through my photos to blog about them I regret using my phone and wish I'd used a proper camera! The quality is never the same. Anyway, June was a busy month and here are some photos of what we got up to.

We took our friends the Lekias family to Mandurah for a long weekend. Nicole was pregnant and getting close to having baby number four so we thought we'd take a trip away before the new baby arrived. They stayed until Saturday night and then Kate and Jarom's family joined us on the Sunday and Monday.
Alissa and Matthew having a ball together, picking up right where they left off in Karratha.
Gideon is such a sweetheart
They all had fun swimming in the pool - even though it was June! We were blessed with lovely weather that weekend.
Harrison and Gideon

Zara still loves Nicole - that time they bonded in Karratha runs deep!

Love this photo - Alissa could pass as a Lekias sibling!
We had fish and chips at the Mandurah foreshore

Testing out the new fire pit in the backyard.
We had a great time with the Lekias's, the kids had a ball together and the adults had fun chatting and playing board games when the kids were asleep (What Do You Meme was hilarious!).
Harry and River decided to start their own little business of gardening and tidying up people's yards. They gave up after a morning of knocking on doors and not making much money. Cute while it lasted though!
Alissa dressed up (or down) for her school assembly with her friend Holly
Harrison had to have a baby tooth pulled out at the school dentist. I let him take the whole day off and we went to the movies together and out for lunch before the tooth was pulled in the afternoon. Apart from the tooth pulling, we both had a great day together!
One morning after a walk with Kate and Monique we visited a local cafe where the Zara and Ava had "unicorn milkshakes."

I had to bake loads of cookies for an event at school, a netball fundraiser and one other thing that I've forgotten now!
Alissa dressed up as Sleeping Beauty for a fairytale afternoon at school. Grandparents or a special guest was invited to attend. Aunty Mon stood in for the lack of grandparents and Alissa loved every minute of it.
Grandparents and guests were invited to dress up too and Aunty Mon was the belle of the ball!
Quick photos with Sienna and Alissa at netball one Saturday morning.

I think Alissa must have been home sick for some reason and we obviously got hot chocolates.
Sweet baby Eden!
Sunrise one morning from our balcony
Beautiful Perth "winter" weather on a Saturday - warranting a walk and ice creams.

Alissa's Assembly

Alissa's pre-primary assembly was very cute. It was about individuality and how God makes all of us special and unique. The kids were allowed to wear anything they liked, Alissa's teacher said "even pyjama's" and guess what Alissa wanted to wear?! She smiled and waved at me the whole time.

She kept chatting and laughing with her friend Zara, seated next to her.
Singing their song

Alissa remembered her lines and spoke them with a loud, clear voice.

It was a really cute assembly and it made me again appreciate the Christian values of the school. All the primary school assemblies are Christian themed and they often focus on helping the children recognise their value in the sight of God. We are very blessed to be part of such a lovely school community. Well done Lissy!

Ocean Reef Ward Conference Activity

Clint (EQ) helped to organise our ward conference activity. We had a Mexican night and Clinton set up the photo booth. Here are a few photos of our family in the booth!

Classic River and Harry!
Clint sourced some frozen churros that worked out to be about 30c each. We cooked them in batches in the oven and covered them with a sugar/cinnamon mix. Clint made a delicious ganache dipping sauce and served it in mini dipping pots. They were a hit! It was a really fun night.

May iPhone Photos

As you can see, I've been very lazy with my camera this year and most of my photos have been taken using my iPhone. Here are a few things that happened in May this year.

We took the boat for a trip to Fremantle one Saturday

Sienna didn't want to be in the photos
We visited the Freo Markets and the kids had shaved ice

Zara playing with Nate one afternoon
Gorgeous baby Eden
Sienna and Harrison dressed up and ready for a Harry Potter movie accompanied by WASO.
Aunty Kate came with us too! She found us some cheap, last minute tickets.

A beautiful sunset on our street
This cutie pie, ready for church one Sunday
Harry is such a lovely big brother
Mother's Day in Alissa's Preprimary class
Alissa's portrait of me
Alissa painting my nails

I painted hers too!
I love this gorgeous girl, it's an honour to be her mother.
Outside at recess

I then had Sienna's Mother's Day celebration on the same day in the afternoon

We had a lovely time together - Sienna is such a gorgeous girl x
Sienna scored her netball team's very first goal of the season and then went on to get several goals  and the team won their first game! She was very excited!
Clint made churro's for mother's day dessert - delicious! I was very spoilt.
Monique had a high tea for her birthday at a restaurant - it was delicious!
Our family often walks across the road to Hillary's Boat Harbour to have dinner or even just an ice cream. The sunsets are always amazing.
Zara and my friend Kelli's son Elliot on the piano together.

Zara getting ready to follow her destiny as a Snow girl of being a "cooker"
The girls playing with a gorgeous handmade book from Grammie - I just love the old fashioned fabrics and the girls have a great time dressing up the dolls.
Sienna receiving a merit certificate at school

Sienna worked really hard on her reading this year and moved up several levels in a short period of time. Well done Senny!
A visit from Erana (and Sonja stayed over too) we love seeing her when she visits from karratha!
