Chichester National Park

One Saturday in June we decided to drive to Chichester National Park. The weather was getting cooler but we didn't bank on all the flies! They drove us mad and we decided there were too many to have a swim at Deep Reach Pool. We took a walk along the trail at the old homestead at Millstream. After the walk I realised we had some fly nets in the glovebox of the car!

Red dirt - it gets everywhere...in shoes, on clothes, on the outside and inside of the car, on your clean washing. Red dirt also gets in your blood and suddenly you learn to love and embrace it.
Trying to get a nice group shot of all four kids is nearly impossible!
Love this one though!

At the homestead, I can't imagine how those poor early settlers lived here with the heat, the flies, the dirt, the insects and bugs, the snakes...and miles and miles away from any other civilisation.
That sweet cheeky face
Imagine the heat from this oven in Summer, it would have been unbearable

They did plant some lovely shady trees though and apparently they had an amazing vegetable garden back in the day

Fish!

Sienna was scared to dip her feet in, she thought a fish might bite her!

Vibrant yellow wattle
Such an extraordinary landscape
Alissa calls the mulla mulla flowers, "mully mullies"- she gets very excited when she sees them.

When you collect a red rock as a souvenir...
It was a big day for this little lady. I think they were all asleep within half an hour of driving home.
Another beautiful Pilbara adventure.

Zara at 16 Months

Some photos I took of Zara at 16 months old. I feel like Zara's life so far has gone by in a blur. She's growing up too quickly and I'm too busy to slow down and enjoy it. We all adore Zara and she knows it and pretty much gets what she wants from all of us.

Fingers are always still in her mouth
I love the little baby curls at the back of her hair

Sienna's Year One Assembly

Sienna's class performed a song from the movie 'Trolls' for their assembly. They made their own troll hair during class. It was pretty cute and Sienna did a great job!

Well done Sienna!

Boating and Hearson's Cove in May

I'm so far behind in my blogging that it's getting hard to remember the particulars of what I'm blogging about! I sort all my photos into months and these two batches were taken in May. More photos of boating and bonfires at Hearson's Cove (two of our very favourite things in Karratha).

One of Zara's favourite treats is watermelon

So cute!
A family bonfire at Hearson's with the Baker's and the Pilkington's

"Girls, smile for a photo" this is what I got!

I edited the dirt off the above photo's face, I couldn't be bothered doing the one below! More realistic anyway...

Ahhh, that's better! Apart from the hair in their faces.

"Lissy, look up and smile" Ok...
Cute one of Emily though!

I love how oblivious my children are to the beautiful backdrop they are playing in!
