School Sports Carnival

I'll be honest, I usually dread the annual school sports carnival. Not because I don't love watching my children participate but because its always a really hot and humid day sitting on the oval for hours! I usually have at least one toddler or baby to feed and entertain on the sidelines too. So when the school announced a 'Twilight Carnival' that would begin after school and run until 8.30pm I was thrilled! This meant that Clinton was also able to come after work and be part of it this year too (he may have been less thrilled!! haha!). We were also able to pre-order our dinners and pick them up on the night, better and better!

Sienna had a proper sprint race this year and was dressed in her blue faction shirt. She was really excited!

She ran really well and came in fourth

Harrison was in first division again this year for the 70 meter, 100 meter and the 200 meter. Tough competition in first division but he still managed to get lots of ribbons.

Alissa and Benji watching from the sidelines (obviously some bright sun in Alissa's face).
Clinton took these sweet photos of Zara and I

Alissa, Emily and Benji formed a cute little cheer squad from the sidelines

Sienna and Harrison gave it their very best and had a fantastic night...I hope this Twilight Carnival idea sticks for next year!

BOOK WEEK

This year's 'Book Week Parade' was Australian book themed. Sienna went as Tiddilic the frog and Harrison went as Ned Kelly. We were able to borrow the Ned Kelly costume (and book) from Tom who wore it last year at his school. Alissa wanted to be in the photo too, of course.
At the book week parade...Alissa and friends entertaining themselves.

Alissa and her friend Addison mucking around together!
Had to snap these two friends holding hands at the end too.

Goodwyn Island

Boating. It's safe to say that it's our favourite thing to do as a family here in Karratha. We have only scratched the surface with exploring the plethora of islands in the Dampier Archipelago. Often we'll take off not really knowing where we'll stop...on this particular day we chose Goodwyn Island (a spot we'd never previously explored). We met the Rodoni's out on the water (we are always late), here are some photos Clinton took from above with his drone.

We are always on the lookout for whales (during this season) and Harry is particularly good at spotting them first.

Trying to catch a glimpse of a whale in a photo...

Tom & Milly

The kids exploring Goodwyn Island, the boys loved the dunes.

Milly and Sienna collecting MORE shells. Sienna has a huge box full of shells in her bedroom, I can't really blame her though, the shells are amazing on these Islands.

Emi kindly giving Zara some snuggles

There were lots of these giant jellyfish on the beach, they stink!
Zara giving me the stink eye...

The kids enjoyed climbing and sliding down the dunes

Trying to get a family photo with everyone looking forward and not pulling a funny face, we still have a way to go!
I do like how Alissa is hugging Sienna in this photo though!

One of my favourite parts of boating is pulling up at an Island and just sitting back and watching the kids playing in nature together.

Sienna is really enjoying snorkelling at the moment

Alissa trying to bury the stinky jellyfish...

Another beautiful day out on the water with lovely friends...what could be better?
